The Holy Family Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Longmont Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Holy Family will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
Holy Family can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Centaurus 62-25 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-12.
Holy Family's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julia Hodell, who scored eight points along with nine steals. Hodell is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Ward, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Longmont can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. Everything went their way against Northglenn as Longmont made off with a 51-26 win. Given Longmont's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Northglenn is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Holy Family pushed their record up to 11-0 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42.4 points. As for Longmont, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.
Holy Family took their win against Longmont when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 62-36. Does Holy Family have another victory up their sleeve, or will Longmont turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
