The Mount Si Wildcats came tearing into Friday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Skyline by a score of 65-57. Given Mount Si's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Skyline is ranked 70th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Mount Si to victory were Latt Ford and Trevor Hennig. Ford scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks, while Hennig scored 20 points along with six assists and two steals. Ford is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Hennig, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Mount Si's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points per game. As for Skyline, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.
Mount Si won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Silas at 7:00 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Silas focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. As for Skyline, they will head out on the road to square off against Juanita at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Juanita has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28.
