McLean County has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Forest Park Rangers in a holiday battle at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday at. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Monday, McLean County suffered a tough 53-27 defeat at the hands of Daviess County. While losing is never fun, McLean County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Daviess County is ranked 53rd).
Despite their defeat, McLean County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Sarah Larkin, who scored two points along with ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. That's the first time this season that Larkin pulled down eight or more rebounds. Kenadi Level was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Even though they lost, McLean County were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 62 points the game before, Forest Park were a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They were beaten by Washington 59-23.
McLean County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Forest Park, they bumped their record down to 2-9 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.
