Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jacob Peterson and Eli Huston Lead Heritage Leadership Academy to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against NC GBB Academy, Heritage Leadership Academy was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 62-53 victory over the Durham Charter Lions. The Fletchers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Heritage Leadership Academy was led to victory by Eli Huston and Jacob Peterson. Huston dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds, while Peterson went 6-for-11 en route to 18 points. What's more, Huston also posted an 88% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in November of 2024. Jacob Winders was another key player, putting up seven points and five boards.

The win got Heritage Leadership Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Durham Charter, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage Leadership Academy and Bethesda Christian Academy will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. As for Durham Charter, they will challenge Hillside at 5:30 p.m. on the 29th.
