The Grant Lancers had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They came out on top against Arleta by a score of 69-56. 69 seems to be a good number for Grant as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
It was another big night for Omree Bentov, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Taylor, who scored 12 points.
Grant is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. As for Arleta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grant's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Kennedy is on a four-game streak of home wins, the Lancers a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Arleta, they will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chavez will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1288th, while the Mustangs are ranked 560th).
