Assumption is 2-8 against Ballard since June of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Rockets will square off against the Bruins at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Assumption had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Corbin on Saturday. The Rockets blew past the Redhounds 14-7. Winning may never get old, but the Rockets sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Assumption got a massive performance out of Paige Crain, who fired off two home runs and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave Crain a new career-high. Ashley Jones also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Assumption was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .436. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Male typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Ballard proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Bulldogs. The Bruins' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Ballard let Payton Downey and Aubrie Newton run wild. Downey scored three runs while going 3-for-5, while Newton scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Myla Jones, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Assumption's record now sits at 14-4-1. As for Ballard, their record is now 10-8-1.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Assumption hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. However, it's not like Ballard struggles in that department as they've averaged .383. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Assumption's way against Ballard when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Assumption made off with an 18-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
