Tipton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Makayla Schinlaub, who posted nine points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season. Ellyse Walden produced another solid effort going 7-for-10 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds for Western. Another player making a difference was Kayleigh Auth, who earned six points in addition to five boards and five steals.
Tipton now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Western, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
