Softball Recap: Taylor Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

It was a proper cat-fight when Taylor took on Pine Ridge on Monday. Taylor never let Pine Ridge get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six matches by 15 runs or more so far this season.

Savannah Pearson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Taylor got a massive performance out of Amya Ramos, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those two triples gave Ramos a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kendall Miller, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Taylor was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .706. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Taylor is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. Pine Ridge's loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-9-1.

Taylor has already played their next game, a 10-6 victory against Umatilla on the 25th. As for Pine Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 19-1 win against Father Lopez on the 26th.
