Lakeland Regional extended the longest winning streak in Big North - National this week by beating Kearny, 57-26. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Lancers.
Tenafly moved up to 171 from 220 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Tigers were able to make the jump by beating Bergenfield 28-27.
Lakeland Regional's dynamic duo of Adam Wallerstein and Kyle Allegrini proved tough for the Kardinals to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Wallerstein threw for 171 yards and four touchdowns and Allegrini had 108 yards receiving. Joseph Jordan helped Lakeland Regional's passing attack out by catching five balls for 86 yards.
John Trainor was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 125 yards on 17 carries as Northern Valley beat Kearny. Teammate Zach Frohlick added to the ground attack by rushing for 72 yards.
On the ground, the Lancers' David Shellhammer has rushed for 876 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Allegrini. The Lakeland Regional star has 16 catches for 378 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Indian Hills takes on Tenafly. The Braves are currently in fifth, while Kurt Hommen's team is in third.
Lakeland Regional took down Pete Llaneza's team 57-26 last week, the largest margin of any game. Wallerstein in the win.
