The Bishop Gorman Gaels had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They walked away with a 32-25 victory over Liberty. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Bishop Gorman has scored all year.
Bishop Gorman found their leader in underclassman Addysen Carr, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Carr is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Searcy, who scored four points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Liberty's loss came despite strong showings from Daisha Peavy and Leiliani Harworth. Peavy scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Harworth scored no points along with ten rebounds and five steals. Harworth is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played.
Bishop Gorman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Gorman will take on the Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Spring Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Gaels are ranked first). As for Liberty, they will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Centennial is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
