The Sterling Tigers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They snuck past Limon with a 50-45 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Sterling, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Colin Linn was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with three steals. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Ethan Thyne, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Despite the loss, Limon still got an impressive performance from Jordan Rockwell, who scored 27 points. Rockwell scored a full 60% of Limon's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Jaques, who scored eight points.
Sterling's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Limon, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Sterling will head out on the road to face off against Y at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Y is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 72.5 points per game. Limon won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Rangely at 2:30 p.m. on December 16th.
