The King Lions lost against the Riverview Sharks back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. King had to suffer through a rough 66-21 loss at the hands of Riverview. King has struggled against Riverview recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
King's loss came despite strong showings from Heaven Pyfrom and Gloria Ikudayisi. Pyfrom scored 8 points along with 4 steals, while Ikudayisi scored 2 points along with 4 steals.
Riverview got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Yasmin Johnson out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ehren Spikes, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
King's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Riverview, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. King and Freedom will face off at 8:00 p.m. on December 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Riverview, they will head out on the road to face off against Newsome at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Newsome will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Riverview is ranked 92nd).
