Baseball Recap: Tomball Kings Wins Going Away Against Frassati Catholic

Tomball Kings won the last time they faced Frassati Catholic and things went their way on Saturday too. The Tomball Kings Homeschool put the hurt on the Frassati Catholic Falcons with a sharp 12-1 victory. The Homeschool might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by ten runs or more this season.

Aj Rocha looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Taven Oluwa was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while going 1-for-1. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikey Sharp, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Tomball Kings was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .350 or higher in five consecutive matches.

Tomball Kings is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs over those games. Frassati Catholic is on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tomball Kings will head out to take on Second Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Frassati Catholic will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kelly Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on March 6th.
