Football Recap: Timnath Skates Past Northridge with Ease + How To Watch

Timnath and Northridge faced off in a Battle of the Bears on Thursday. The Cubs took their contest with ease, bagging a 63-6 win over the Grizzlies. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-0.

Timnath's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mitchell Deangelis led the charge by rushing for 75 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while also catching one TD. Deangelis has become a key player for the Cubs: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 3-4 otherwise. Drew Raymond was another key signal caller, throwing for 154 yards and three TDs on only 13 passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Timnath was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 212 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

When it comes to explaining why Northridge lost, don't look at Wyatt Hill. Despite the final result, he picked up 92 receiving yards and one score. Hill was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 68 yards.

Timnath is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.0 points over those games. As for Northridge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Coming up, Timnath will head out to square off against Palisade at 1:00 p.m. on the 15th. The Cubs' defense better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 34.7 points per game this season. Northridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
