Basketball Recap: Papillion-Lavista Skates Past Omaha South with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Papillion-LaVista). They took their matchup on Monday with ease, bagging a 77-36 win over the Omaha South Packers. Given the Monarchs' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Packers are ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Papillion-LaVista was led to victory by Sam Boudreau and Bryce Vigness. Boudreau went 9 for 14 on his way to 23 points, while Vigness went 5 of 9 en route to 16 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Boudreau a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Avalon, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Papillion-LaVista was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Papillion-LaVista now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Omaha South, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Papillion-LaVista will host Lincoln at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Lincoln's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Omaha South, they will head out to take on Grand Island at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
