The Valley Center Jaguars will head out on the road to take on the San Pasqual Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Valley Center focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
Last Friday, Valley Center had to suffer through a rough 72-42 loss at the hands of the Warriors. Valley Center was down 50-27 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Despite the defeat, Valley Center had strong showings from Dustin Hotchkiss, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds, and Lincoln Zetmeir, who scored 13 points. Max Victor was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, San Pasqual had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 67-42 margin over Orange Glen. That 25 point margin sets a new team best for San Pasqual this season.
Valley Center's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for San Pasqual, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-22.
Everything came up roses for Valley Center against the Golden Eagles when the teams last played last Wednesday as the team secured a 80-53 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Valley Center since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
