St. Bernard's got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Laila Florvilus out in front who scored 24 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Florvilus has scored at least 25% of St. Bernard's points. Madelyn Shanahan was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Edna Karr has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season. As for St. Bernard's, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Edna Karr will square off against Newman at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Newman is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. St. Bernard's and South Fork will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. South Fork will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 876th, while St. Bernard's is ranked 139th).
