The Sultana Sultans will face off against the Apple Valley Sun Devils at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sultana has three straight victories, Apple Valley has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Sultana will bounce into Monday's match after beating Oak Hills, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Sultans were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bulldogs last Wednesday.
While Sultana might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Oak Hills scored at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 25-21.

Brooklyn Kelly and Ella Cain were among the main playmakers for Sultana as the former had 18 digs and five aces and the latter had 11 assists and eight digs. With that strong performance, Kelly is now averaging an impressive 10.3 digs per game.
Meanwhile, Apple Valley came up short against Burroughs on Wednesday, falling 3-0.
Apple Valley took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-16, 25-23.
Sultana will need to focus on slowing down SALLY BALLAT, one of several Apple Valley players who made an impact when they last played. She had eight digs and two aces.
Apple Valley's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Sultana, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's contest: Sultana has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Apple Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
