The Page Pirates have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They had just enough and edged Ragsdale out 41-38. The team accrued 30 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.
Page's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hattie Sloyan led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Sloyan hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lola Vanore, who scored six points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Page's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Ragsdale, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.
Page's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Western Guilford is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Ragsdale, they will head out on the road to take on the Whirlies at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Grimsley is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
