The Burns Broncs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 12th straight loss. They were dealt a 76-36 defeat at the hands of Bridgeport. Burns has not had much luck with Bridgeport recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Burns lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mason Terry, who scored eight points along with four steals. Terry hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Medley, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Bridgeport was led to victory by Logan Metz and Kolby Lussetto. Metz dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Lussetto scored 23 points. Lussetto continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Landon Dean was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Burns' defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Bridgeport, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Burns will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Niobrara County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Niobrara County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Burns in Wyoming (Niobrara County is ranked 18th, while Burns is ranked 61st). As for Bridgeport, they will head out on the road to take on Kimball at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kimball is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
