The Westwood Redhawks will head out on the road to face off against the White Knoll Timberwolves at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westwood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully White Knoll likes a good challenge.
Westwood has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 20 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 62-40 margin over Spring Valley.
Westwood's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Mike Balkman, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds, and TJ Bell, who scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The match was Bell's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was D'Marcus Thomas, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, White Knoll pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-55 to Aiken.
Westwood's win bumped their season record to 4-0 while Spring Valley's defeat dropped theirs to 1-2.
Westwood beat White Knoll 66-58 when the teams last played back in November of 2018. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westwood since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
