Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up ten more assists than your opponent, a fact the HomeSchool Resource Center Patriots proved on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 69-31 victory over Calumet Christian on the road. That looming 69-31 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for HomeSchool Resource Center yet this season.
Fredrick Jefferson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a triple-double on 26 points, 11 rebounds, and nine steals. Those nine steals set a new season-high mark for he. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Baldridge, who scored 14 points along with five assists.
Calumet Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brad Nymeyer, who scored eight points along with five rebounds, and Kolton Foutz who scored eight points. Michael Clayton was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for HomeSchool Resource Center and bumps their season record up to 6-8. As for Calumet Christian, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
HomeSchool Resource Center will be home for the holidays to greet Rockford FIRE HomeSchool at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Calumet Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Hammond Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hammond Baptist has seven straight victories, Calumet Christian has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
