Edgewood fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Shakamak on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lakers by a score of 4-3.
Anthony Shields made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Rowan Heitink, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Indianapolis Kings never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 27-0 margin over Mooresville Christian. The result was nothing new for Indianapolis Kings, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Will Siegfried and Jace Jenkins were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Siegfried pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Jenkins pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. At the plate, Siegfried went 3-for-6 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Jenkins got on base in all six of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luke Hightower, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Austin Kelly was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and two RBI.
Indianapolis Kings always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .623. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mooresville Christian only posted an OBP of .176.
Indianapolis Kings' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-5. As for Edgewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
