Roosevelt dropped down to 14-8 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Highland Hornets by a score of 7-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-3 back in April.

As for Highland, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games.

For Highland's part, Reid Oney tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Oney has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Casey Myser, who fired off two home runs, two stolen bases, and three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony DePompei, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Roosevelt and Highland should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Rough Riders (ranked 192nd) will meet Barberton (ranked 527th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Highland will take on Avon at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (38 vs. 277).
