Baseball Recap: Oakmont Has No Trouble Against Placer

Oakmont won the last time they faced Placer and things went their way on Friday too. The Vikings blew past the Hillmen 7-1. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Jaylan Patterson looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Beau Ogles, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brady Fearn, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Oakmont hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive contests.

Oakmont's record is now 15-3. As for Placer, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Coming up, Oakmont is taking a road trip to square off against Colfax at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Placer, they have already played their next game, a 15-4 win against Twelve Bridges on the 7th.
