The Mill Valley Jaguars will face off against the Blue Valley Tigers on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Mill Valley is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Shawnee Mission North: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Jaguars blew the Bison out of the water with a 49-14 final score. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Max Piva continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 172 yards while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 108 rushing yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mill Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 359 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 288 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Blue Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 41-34 to Bishop Miege. Despite 299 more yards than the Stags, the Tigers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Mill Valley will need to focus on slowing down Dan Sogard, one of several Blue Valley players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 254 yards and four TDs. Jacob Lockett was Sogard's top target, picking up 115 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Mill Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points over those games. As for Blue Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
We should be in store for an exciting game as Mill Valley and Blue Valley have no problem gaining yardage. The Jaguars have been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 433.9 total yards per game. However, it's not like Blue Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 351 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Mill Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Blue Valley in their previous matchup back in October of 2019, but they still walked away with a 24-20 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Tigers' Chase Jans, who rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Jaguars to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
