They came out on top against Esperanza by a score of 60-52. Given El Dorado's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while Esperanza is ranked 650th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
El Dorado was led to victory by Andrew Salvador and Noah Barker. Salvador scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Barker scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Salvador hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Meek, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
El Dorado's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-9. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Esperanza, El Modena, and Brea Olinda. As for Esperanza, their loss dropped their record down to 9-15.
El Dorado will be playing in front of their home fans against Brea Olinda at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Esperanza, they will head out on the road to challenge El Modena at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. El Modena has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29.
