Northwest Crossroads recap September 4, 2013
Andrean was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Merrillville. The Fighting 59ers came in at 23 in the state poll after placing at number 47 last week.
Griffith moved up to 135 from 175 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Northwest Crossroads. The Panthers climbed the ranks as a result of besting Wheeler 43-6.
Hobart's dynamic duo of Andrew Barras and Nicholas Bokun proved tough for LaPorte to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Barras threw for 140 yards and 2 touchdowns and Bokun had 85 yards receiving. Drey Devereaux helped Hobart's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 34 yards.
The Brickies' dynamic duo of Barras and Bokun proved to be unstoppable against the Slicers, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Seth Gutwein was the best running back in the league this week. In 13 carries, he ran for 91 yards as Munster beat LaPorte. Teammate Joe Jumonville added to the ground attack by rushing for 32 yards.
Bokun was the best receiver in the league this week as Ryan Turley's team bested Bob Schellinger's team.
Barras put up the best numbers in passing as the Brickies defeated the Slicers.
As it stands, the Mustangs are in fourth, while Highland is in second.
Kankakee Valley took down Manual 60-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
