Norwayne is 7-1 against Smithville since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Norwayne Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Smithville Smithies at 7:00 p.m. Norwayne is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
There was early excitement for Norwayne after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Dalton who ended up claiming the real prize. Norwayne fell to Dalton 34-29.
The losing side was boosted by Dillon Morlock, who rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Mason Moyer, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Even if they lost, Norwayne's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Moyer and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Smithville ended up a good deal behind Rittman on Friday and lost 28-14.
The losses dropped Norwayne to 8-1 and Smithville to 5-4.
Everything came up roses for Norwayne against Smithville in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 38-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Norwayne since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
