Mercy McAuley will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over Norwood. Considering the Eagles have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kylene Werner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gabi Koehler, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Cecilia Wissman, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Mercy McAuley got the win against Notre Dame Academy on Thursday by a conclusive 15-4.
Mercy McAuley also got a great performance from Sophia Ward as she struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk).
On the hitting side, Olivia Olding and Mya Rose did most of the damage at the plate: Olding went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI, while Rose went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That triple was Rose's first of the season. Jayla Walker was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
The victory got Mercy McAuley back to even at 9-9. As for Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, their record is now 7-5.
Mercy McAuley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. It's a different story for Mercy McAuley, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits.
