The Hitchcock Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Little River Academy Bumblebees at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hitchcock is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
Hitchcock stacked a eighth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard two weeks ago. They claimed a resounding 54-22 win over Hallettsville at home. Given Hitchcock's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Hallettsville is ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Little River Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 49-28 defeat at the hands of Franklin. Little River Academy has not had much luck with Franklin recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Brian Grissom, who rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Cavalli Nealy was another key contributor, rushing for 112 yards and a touchdown.
Hitchcock's win lifted them to 9-1 while Little River Academy's loss dropped them down to 8-2.
Hitchcock beat Little River Academy 22-14 in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Does Hitchcock have another victory up their sleeve, or will Little River Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
