The Jonesboro Hurricane will be playing at home against the Southside Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Jonesboro was fully in charge, breezing past Central 45-6 at home. The victory was just what Jonesboro needed coming off of a 49-6 loss in their prior matchup.
Jonesboro found their leader in underclassman Jordan Daniels, who rushed for 115 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Another player making a difference was Markevious Pickett, who gained 100 total yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Jonesboro's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Samuel King and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Southside beat Springdale 49-42 on Friday.
Their wins bumped Jonesboro to 5-5 and Southside to 6-4.
