The Mater Academy Charter Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Mater Brickell Academy, posting a 71-25 victory on the road. That 46 points margin sets a new team best for Mater Academy Charter this season.
Leading Mater Academy Charter to victory were Aaron Arroyo and Solomon Leinbock. Arroyo scored 11 points along with six assists and five steals, while Leinbock scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Arroyo has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Valencia, who scored 11 points.
Mater Academy Charter has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Mater Brickell Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Mater Academy Charter's road trip will continue as they head out to face Divine Savior Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 17th. Divine Savior Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mater Academy Charter in Florida (Divine Savior Academy is ranked 140th, while Mater Academy Charter is ranked 314th).
