Basketball Recap: Nir Ovaknin Key Part of Team Effort in Storm Win + How To Watch

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Katz Yeshiva and Donna Klein Jewish Academy meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Storm enjoyed a cozy 77-62 win over the Eagles. The Storm pushed the score to 58-36 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Katz Yeshiva's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nir Ovaknin led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. Ovaknin's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Ilan Attias, who went 7-for-11 to rack up 15 points and three steals.

Katz Yeshiva now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Donna Klein Jewish Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Katz Yeshiva will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Scheck Hillel Community School at 7:00 p.m. As for Donna Klein Jewish Academy, they will square off against Boca Raton Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
