The Swansboro Pirates's game on Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 39-29 victory over Northside - Jacksonville. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Swansboro also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2021.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Swansboro to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashlynn Cook, who scored 4 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Payton Hislop, who scored 5 points.
Despite the loss, Northside - Jacksonville saw an underclassman step up: Sa'Niyah Serrano scored 10 points.
The win got Swansboro back to even at 2-2. As for Northside - Jacksonville, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Swansboro will take on Topsail at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northside - Jacksonville will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Southwest Onslow at 5:30 p.m. on December 5th.
