Saranac had a rough outing against Beekmantown three weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Saranac were able to grind out a solid victory over Peru on Saturday, winning 31-21. That result was just more of the same for Saranac, who also won the last time these teams played.
Saranac got off to a sluggish start, posting zero total points in the first half. Peru couldn't get anything started offensively, either, which meant the halftime score sat untouched at 0-0. The offense for Saranac put that tie to bed by coming up with 31 points in the second half to win the game. The win bumped their record up to 5-1. The loss dropped Peru back to even at 3-3.
Next week Saranac take on Plattsburgh at 2:00 PM. Those two teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous games. As for Peru, they will face off against Saranac Lake.
