Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school football. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2025 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Prince Williams of
Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) is the 2025 MaxPreps Nevada High School Football Player of the Year. The 6-foot-3, 255-pound senior defensive end helped the nationally-ranked Gaels to an 11-1 record and fifth consecutive state championship.
For the season, Williams racked up 91 tackles, 44 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, 18 quarterback hurries and three forced fumbles. He led the way for a defense that allowed 5.3 points per game and posted seven shutouts.

In a 14-0 shutout victory over California Southern Section Division 1 champion Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita), Williams recorded 11 tackles, four tackles for loss, three sacks, six quarterback hurries and a forced fumble.
In another out-of-state showdown with Illinois state finalist East St. Louis, Williams piled up 17 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks, two quarterback hurries and a forced fumble in a 35-10 win.
Williams finished his high school career as the school's all-time leader in tackles (265), tackles for loss (98) and sacks (34).
Regarded as one of Nevada's top senior prospects by
247Sports, Williams committed to Arizona in July over more than a dozen other offers.
Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team.
