The Thompson Valley Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 68-18 victory over Skyline on the road. Thompson Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 22 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Thompson Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Paige Wagner, who scored 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Wagner is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Irelynd Barnes, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Skyline still got an impressive performance from Lauren Pratt, who scored seven points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Thompson Valley and bumps their season record up to 6-4. As for Skyline, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thompson Valley will take on Loveland at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Loveland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Thompson Valley is ranked 90th). As for Skyline, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Frederick at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th. Frederick and Skyline are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
