The Oakfield Oaks will be taking part in a tournament against the Shiocton Chiefs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Oakfield barely beat North Fond du Lac the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Oaks put the hurt on the Orioles with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. The Oaks haven't had any issues with the Orioles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Oakfield never let North Fond du Lac on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-15, 28-26.

Oakfield's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Hayden Collien, who had nine digs and five aces, and Lily Collien, who had 17 digs and two assists. Lily has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last seven times she's played.
They weren't the only good server: Oakfield was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Shiocton hadn't done well against Weyauwega-Fremont recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Chiefs had just enough and edged out the Warhawks 3-2.
If you add up the scores from across all five sets (107-97) Shiocton actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 19-25, 12-25, 26-24, 15-10.
Oakfield's record is now 7-2. As for Shiocton, their record now sits at 15-4.
