The Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Derby Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bishop Carroll has three straight wins, Derby has 15 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Bishop Carroll is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Southeast on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-0 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Ethan Cox looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bishop Carroll is undefeated when Cox allows three or fewer hits, but 1-2 otherwise.
At the plate, Bishop Carroll got a massive performance out of Jonah Mull, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, Mull posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Harrison King, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.
Bishop Carroll was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .609. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .414 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Derby fell victim to Andover and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 8-0 to the Trojans. The game marked the first time this year in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.
Bishop Carroll's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 12.5 runs this season. As for Derby, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
Bishop Carroll was able to grind out a solid victory over Derby in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 5-0. Do the Golden Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
