The biggest upset of the week belonged to Vineland, who took down 300th ranked Lower Cape May, 24-14.
Alex Hughes and Austin Francisco provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Bridgeton. The connection was good for 78 yards, the longest such play in Cape-Atlantic - National this season.
St. Augustine Prep's dynamic duo of Hughes and Francisco proved tough for the Bulldogs to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hughes threw for 177 yards and one touchdown and Francisco had 117 yards receiving. Justyce Pollitt helped St. Augustine Prep's passing attack out by catching five balls for 38 yards.
Zack Vogelei was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 261 yards on 20 carries as Middle Township defeated Bridgeton. Teammate Nigel Case added to the ground attack by rushing for 63 yards.
St. Augustine Prep's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hermits feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hughes has thrown for 652 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Francisco has 14 catches for 308 yards. Calvin Cass leads the league in rushing with 1107 yards.
A big matchup in Cape-Atlantic - National this week will be when St. Augustine Prep takes on Buena. At the moment, Mark Reardon's team is in first, while the Chiefs are in fourth.
The Panthers moved up to 191 from 228 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Middle Township was able to make the jump by beating Ocean City 41-21.
