The Flagler Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Byers by a score of 41-39. Flagler has struggled against Byers recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Flagler lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaylie Stone, who scored ten points along with five steals. Stone is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Belle Schier was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Flagler's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Byers, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-6.
Flagler will head out on the road to challenge Idalia at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Idalia's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Flagler's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Byers, they will be playing at home against Calhan at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
