They walked away with a 54-44 win over Winamac. That's another feather in the cap for North Judson-San Pierre, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
North Judson-San Pierre found their leader in underclassman Cailyn Tunis, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Tunis has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Kyleigh Lehiy was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Winamac lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Piper Link, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Maggie Smith, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Even though they lost, Winamac smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
North Judson-San Pierre now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Winamac, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-8.
North Judson-San Pierre will head out on the road to challenge Knox at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Winamac, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Pioneer at 7:30 p.m.
