The West York Area Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Middletown Blue Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West York Area is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 35.7 points per game this season.
West York Area is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Dover: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Bulldogs blew the Eagles out of the water with a 50-7 final score. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Eagles are ranked 312th) , the win two weeks ago wasn't entirely unexpected.

West York Area's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jensen Ferber, who threw for 255 yards and five TDs on only 15 passes. What's more, Ferber racked up 149.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August. Julius Madden did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 148 receiving yards.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something West York Area proved: they limited Dover to a paltry 1.8 yards per carry. The team can thank Logan Boyer for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for West York Area; they were averaging 4.4yards per carry per game earlier this season, but in their last three contests they've fallen to only 4 per game.
Special teams played a big role in the game for West York Area, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Madden, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Middletown gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Eastern York 21-19.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Gavin Paul and Luis Roman. Paul rushed for 204 yards and one score while picking up 12.8 yards per carry while Roman rushed for 103 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries. Roman has become a key player for Middletown: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 2-3 otherwise.
Middletown has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for West York Area, their record is now 9-1.
