3A Region 4 recap December 3, 2013
Austin Pittman of Charleston ran for the longest rushing play in 3A Region 4 this season against Harding Academy last week. Pittman's team defeated the Wildcats as he sprinted for 62 yards on the play and finished with 78 in all.
Charleston was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating Harding Academy. Greg Kendrick's team came in at 22 in the state poll after placing at number 32 last week.
The Tigers' Ty Storey and Chance Shelby led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Storey has thrown for 3,523 yards this season, while Shelby has 61 catches for 1,035 yards. Lamar's Hunter Sanders leads the league in rushing yards with 1,259.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Charleston beat Roddy Mote's team 48-21. The victory was the 13th in a row for the Tigers.
