The Red Bank Catholic Caseys are taking a road trip to face off against the Raritan Rockets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Red Bank Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Red Bank Catholic made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Donovan Catholic, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Caseys fell just short of the Griffins by a score of 4-2 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Caseys have suffered since May 31, 2024.

Mackenna Savage spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lily Hagan was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Raritan entered their tilt with Toms River East on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Raiders 11-5. Considering the Rockets have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Holly Bellofatto, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Janelle Clausi, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Raritan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.
Raritan's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Red Bank Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-3.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Red Bank Catholic hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. However, it's not like Raritan struggles in that department as they've averaged .330. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Red Bank Catholic took their win against Raritan in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-1 score. Will the Caseys repeat their success, or do the Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
