Baseball Recap: ABF Academy Homestead Comes Up Short

ABF Academy Homestead lost against Sunset back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The ABF Academy Homestead Bandits fell 9-6 to the Sunset Knights.

ABF Academy Homestead got a good showing from Kieth Aguas, who struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Aguas has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Narvin Meyer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those RBI marked the first that he's brought in this season. Alex Reguiera was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

ABF Academy Homestead has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. Sunset's win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. ABF Academy Homestead will take on Coral Shores at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sunset, they will head out to square off against Florida Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
