The Covenant School has gone a perfect 9-0 against Eastern Mennonite recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Eagles will host the Flames at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Friday, The Covenant School was able to grind out a solid win over Trinity Christian, taking the game 13-9. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.
The Covenant School got a massive performance out of Latham Clark, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That stolen base was Clark's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Noah Estes, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: The Covenant School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Eastern Mennonite hadn't done well against Hargrave Military Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Flames were the clear victors by an 18-7 margin over the Tigers. The Flames not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1, 2025 (when they won 12-0).
Todd Reamer was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI and two runs. Mason Showalter was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
The victory got The Covenant School back to even at 3-3. As for Eastern Mennonite, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
The Covenant School got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Eastern Mennonite by a conclusive 28-4 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Flames have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
