It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Chase County Longhorns had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They walked away with a 50-42 win over the Longhorns. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Chase County.
Chase County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Camron Lempke led the charge by scoring 17 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lempke has scored all season. Tristan Jablonski was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Kimball lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ryker Behrend, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Behrend scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyler Lusche, who scored nine points along with five assists.
The win got Chase County back to even at 7-7. As for Kimball, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.
Chase County will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Holyoke at 4:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for Kimball, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Sutherland.
