After both having extra time off, the Venice Indians and the Ridge Community Bolts will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Venice has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 132 points over their last three matchups.
Venice is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Sarasota: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Indians blew the Sailors out of the water with a 51-14 final score. With the Indians ahead 35-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Venice to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyree Mannings, who picked up 140 receiving yards and two TDs. That's the most receiving touchdowns Mannings has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Darryon Jones, who threw for 197 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes.
Venice was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 230 rushing yards. They are a perfect 6-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Another reason for the win was Venice's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Brock Hupp was especially locked on to Sarasota's QB and sacked him twice. Hupp is becoming a predictor of Venice's success: when he posts at least one sack the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Tristen Neeley was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 13 total tackles.
Meanwhile, Ridge Community won against Winter Haven back in October with 22 points and they decided to stick to that point total again two weeks ago. The Bolts strolled past Davenport with points to spare, taking the game 22-8. The victory continues a trend for the Bolts in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won five in a row.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Lavonski Tubbs and Kenyon Helms. Tubbs rushed for 100 yards and one score on only ten carries while Helms rushed for 75 yards and one TD on only six carries. Tubbs' rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season.
The win got Ridge Community back to even at 5-5. As for Venice, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Venice has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 204 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Ridge Community struggles in that department as they've been averaging 149.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
